Learning a new skill: The Basics of Cooking 13 Week Course
This focuses on giving young people the skills and confidence to prepare delicious and nutritious home cooked food. Using fresh and seasonal ingredients gives an understanding of the value of cooking for yourself and others. Each week we will focus on one or two different basic or classic recipes, preparing them from scratch and using a variety of cooking methods and kitchen equipment.
To continue learning at home each week an additional recipe will also be discussed and given as a challenge to cook at home. This could be deciding to use the basic recipe to create a different dish or a new recipe the participant would like to try. Each cooked recipe will be assessed and will require completed assessment sheets and photographs before it can be signed off.
We try to be as flexible as possible when organising dates and times for this course.
